BMS is a training program within the Computation and Neural Systems Program and the Social Science Ph.D. program. Students enter BMS by applying directly to the BMS track in either of these programs.
The CNS track
The CNS track is generally intended for students with a background in quantitative neuroscience, such as computational/theoretical neuroscience, or cognitive neuroscience.
The Social Science track
The Social Science track is generally intended for students with a background in quantitative social science, such as economics or cognitive psychology, or a non-biological quantitative background such as mathematics or computer science who are committed to research in the social sciences.
For more information regarding the programmatic differences between these two tracks, see about BMS. Prospective applicants are encouraged to discuss these choices with the BMS admissions advisors.
